I began my wellness journey some months back when I started questioning the ingredients in the skin products I was using. I wasn’t able to pronounce most of the ingredients in my body wash, but I figured that was life and I didn’t really care. I’d grown up with it and I assumed Health Canada or whoever monitored these things was probably keeping the dangerous stuff off the shelves of Shoppers. I was (am) theee farthest thing from crunchy. Like, really no solid health standards lol. I’ve always had dry skin, but last winter was especially bad so naturally I frequently slathered my hands in a “gentle” lotion. Somehow I didn’t think it strange when my hands would constantly burn and turn red from the lotion. Any of my lotions. My deodorant was what really got me thinking, especially after all the media attention on talc and aluminum. We’ve got some family history of cancer and it just wasn’t feeling right to be spraying this stuff like– directly on my lymph nodes.

A friend actually sent me a natural lip balm from Whole Foods and I was excited cause it was super moisturizing, but the fact that it was natural and organic was just a bonus. One by one I just slowly started replacing my products with cleaner options. This was only made easier when I dove into the world of Young Living. SO MANY clean alternatives to not only my skin care, but cleaning products & makeup too. And did I mention I was a hardcore candle-sniffer? (Catch me at B&BW sticking my nose in every.single.candle. I can’t imagine doing that now that I haven’t been exposing myself to fragrance, I got a headache walking past the store the other day.) So glad I can make the house smell great consistently without the fragrance and toxins and smoke.

I was NOT prepared for Young Living’s supportive community. With the amount of resources, recipes, giveaways, & classes I’ve had access to from day 1, I’ve never had to feel lost in my oily journey. And I’d love to have you join me! Whenever you’re ready to start swapping your products out for cleaner ones (whether it be cleaning, body care, laundry, or makeup), I’m here to help. We’re going to have so much fun πŸ˜‰
